Glossary

A short, human glossary. If you ever feel like “I should know this,” it’s probably here.
If you want the full logic, see Methodology.

Key terms

These are the words you’ll see in your report.

AI Visibility Index (AVI) Score (0–100)

A measurement of how often your business is included in AI recommendations for high-intent prompts across selected surfaces. Think “how frequently I get picked,” not “how pretty my website is.”

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) Strategy

The practice of improving the chances that generative systems include your brand in answers. In practice, it’s a mix of: entity clarity, trust signals, content that matches intent, and a real citation footprint.

Surface / Channel Where we test

A system we run prompts against (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, etc.). We keep surfaces separate so you can see exactly where you’re missing.

Prompt pack What we ask

A standardized list of high-intent questions (industry + location variations). The point is consistency, so you can compare runs over time.

Coverage Breadth

How many surfaces include you at least once. A strong score with weak coverage means you’re concentrated; broad coverage is more defensible.

Confidence Measurement quality

A signal of how stable/clear the measurement is. Higher when results are consistent and the entity match is unambiguous. It’s not a guarantee — it’s a “how much should I trust this run.”

Entity resolution Identity matching

Confirming the exact business being measured (name + location + domain signals) so the report doesn’t accidentally score a similar brand.

Trust signals Supporting evidence

Public information that can help establish business identity, credibility, service relevance, and third-party corroboration: clear About and Contact pages, consistent name-address-phone details, appropriate structured data, and reputable mentions across the web.

Artifact Evidence record

A downloadable, machine-readable record of the run. It preserves inputs, outputs, scoring data, and evidence so the audit can be reviewed and verified.
